Water/Wastewater Project Engineer
Job Description
This individual will design water and wastewater treatment infrastructure projects for Government Entities. Responsibilities will include designing projects, independently creating layouts, completing detailed designs, plans, specifications and estimates for pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants, tanks and other water and wastewater storage and conveyance systems. Individual will calculate and prepare engineering documents for respective engineering discipline, including details, hydraulic analysis calculations and developing hydraulic profiles, and coordinating with CADD technicians for construction plan production. Construction management experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design of water/wastewater projects.
- Independently create layouts, detailed designs, plans, specifications and estimates for pipelines,
pump stations, treatment plants, tanks and other water and wastewater storage and conveyance
systems. - Engineering/process design, project coordination, determining and writing engineering
specifications, planning work, establish appropriate design methods, report preparation and
coordination, equipment sizing and selection. - Calculate and prepare engineering documents for respective engineering discipline, including
details, hydraulic analysis calculations and developing hydraulic profiles, and coordinating with
CADD technicians for construction plan production. - The selection and application of engineering systems and materials in accordance with the latest
governing codes applicable to the project type will be required. - Deliver projects on time and on budget, while meeting quality requirements.
- Prepare technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables.
Education & Qualifications
- B.S. Civil or Environmental Engineering, M.S. preferred.
- Strong technical skills and aptitudes to design water distribution systems and wastewater
collection systems; and water/wastewater treatment plants. - Must be passionate about delivery of high quality work.
- Ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Candidate should be a self-starter and results-oriented.
- Software knowledge: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Hydraulic modeling software.
