E. Pfennig Lane and E. Pecan Street Boulevard Transformation

Design, Engineering and Construction Services for roadway improvements in Pflugerville, Texas

DCS was contracted by the City of Pflugerville to provide design, preliminary engineering, and construction services for extensive improvements to E. Pfennig Lane & E. Pecan Street, including a preliminary plan for the future extension of E. Pfennig Lane northward and southward.

Improvements to Pfennig Lane included 2,000 Linear Feet (LF) of 60-ft wide, four-lane asphalt roadway, with boulevard, curb and gutter; a hammerhead turnaround driveway; 4,000 LF of ADA-compliant 6-ft wide concrete sidewalk; and traffic control devices, including two new signaled intersections. Improvements to E. Pecan Street included the installation of approximately 2,400 LF of ADA-compliant 6-ft wide concrete sidewalk; three new deceleration lanes; mill and overlay; and 1,200 LF of modifications to the existing median and Right of Way (ROW).

DCS coordinated the acquisition of ROWs at E. Pfennig Lane and the expansion of the existing E. Pecan Street ROW, also coordinating with Oncor Electric to relocate overhead power lines to accommodate the construction of new deceleration lanes along E. Pecan Street. Construction costs totaled ~$4.1M.
