Design and Construction Services for an industrial development in the City of Pflugerville

DCS provided design and construction services for the public infrastructure to support a 160-acre, master planned business park. To maximize the developable acreage of each lot, the firm designed a shared stormwater collection system and a regional detention pond. The stormwater system includes US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)-regulated drainage ditches, 5,300 ft of Reinforced Concrete Box (RCB) storm sewers, a 2-10’X6’ box culvert bridge, a 3-36” Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) culvert bridge, and an 8-acre regional detention pond.

The topography of the site presented several challenges during the course of the project. New development required a permit from the USACE for protection of an existing stream within the property. Due to offsite flows from neighboring properties, the system was designed to accommodate the projected flow from future development of a currently undeveloped neighboring property, and to reroute flows from another neighboring property, bypassing the new regional detention pond and depositing into its own pond.
